Gifted and Talented Science Fair!

Gideon Biermann, 1st grader in Mrs. Spreitzer’s class at Findley Elementary, participated in the Gifted and Talented Department’s Annual Science Fair Competition. The event took place on Thursday evening, February 27th at the Central Campus building downtown. There were over fifty 1st – 5th grade entries in this year’s competition. Projects were scored by a team of judges on several areas including creativity, scientific thought, and oral presentation. First Place Trophies were given out for each grade level and we’re proud to announce that Gideon took home the 1st Place Trophy for the first grade division! Gideon’s project questioned and explored how animals at the bottom of the ocean are equipped to withstand the massive pressures of such depths. He included a model representation of the layers of the ocean as well as a demonstration on the affects of air pressure using a marshmallow and a syringe. Good Job Gideon, and Well Done!Science Fair
