Jaclyn Dehner

School Counselor

E: jaclyn.dehner@dmschools.org

Biography

In 2013, I graduated from the University of Iowa (go Hawkeyes) and joined Des Moines Public Schools as a school counselor. Although this is my fourth year in the district, this is my third year at Findley and I am super excited to be back! As a school counselor, I strongly believe in integrating art and play therapy into counseling because it serves as a great communication tool for both children and adolescents. So, if you ever peek into my office or classroom you may see students and I dancing, acting, painting, or even playing games. Outside of school, I am a proud mother of two children (who are Findley students). In my free-time I love to be outdoors especially near water but most importantly I love spending time with my family and friends.
