Hello! I’m Mrs. Ignasiak or Mrs. Iggy for short. I grew up in Wisconsin and went to the University of Wisconsin La Crosse for a degree in Early Childhood through Middle Childhood Education. This will be my seventh year at Findley and 3rd year teaching 3rd grade! My husband and I just welcomed baby Theodore to our family last November. When I’m not teaching, I’m either cooking, reading, spending time with my family, or snuggling with our cats, Otto and Luna, and our dogs, Findley and Tulsi! Yes, I love Findley so much I named my dog after our school!
I have been teaching in the Des Moines Public Schools since 2016. I began as a substitute then was hired as an interventionist. I am so happy to now be teaching 3rd grade at Findley! I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2010 with a degree in psychology. After that I went to Drake University and earned a master’s degree in teaching. Outside of school I enjoy reading, cheering on the Hawkeyes, and spending time with my husband and 3-year-old son, Myles. We have three small dogs as well!
