Artful Additions to Findley

Next time you visit Findley Elementary, be sure to look up! Fourth graders at Findley Elementary have spent the year focusing on collaboration and communication and prove their understanding of it with the creation of three Chihuly-inspired sculptures made from water bottles, acrylic paint and wire. You can find one in the library, the Kindergarten hallway, and the skylight located outside the gym! Students school-wide collected over 500 water bottles for our fourth graders that make up the three sculptures hanging in our school. Students learned about Dale Chihuly’s glass blowing and working together in the art room, over a period of two months, used problem solving skills and art techniques to come up with the best process to make the sculptures.  A huge thanks to DMPS Facilities for taking the time to hang all three sculptures!
