Findley fourth graders in the Pioneer Book Club visited Living History Farms and spent a day living the life of a pioneer. Students cooked over an open fire, learned basic sewing skills and did farm chores. We learned “hands-on” about what life was like for a pioneer in 1850. Pioneer book club members read books of historical fiction and get to experience many hands-on projects. They come to school early in the morning (just like the pioneers did!) to read and discuss books.
